This is a new HPLC column for silver ion chromatography based on zirconium phosphate! It can be applied to samples in the food sector and organic synthesis field!
"Silver column KANTO" is a new HPLC column for silver ion chromatography based on zirconium phosphate. It is particularly useful for the separation, analysis, and purification of fats and oils with complex compositions. This product overcomes the challenges of conventional silver nitrate-impregnated silica gel, offering high safety and distinctive separation capabilities, with potential applications beyond the food sector.
【Features】
■ Separation of cis/trans isomers
Generally, the cis isomer has a higher stability of the complex formed with Ag+ than the trans isomer, resulting in the cis isomer being retained more strongly while the trans isomer elutes first.
■ Separation of positional isomers
Regardless of the number of carbon atoms, the further the double bond is from the carbonyl carbon, the faster it elutes. Additionally, in the separation of aromatic compounds, they elute in the order of o-isomer, m-isomer, and p-isomer.
■ Separation of fatty acids with different carbon chain lengths
Fatty acids with a higher number of carbon atoms elute faster. Moreover, those with more double bonds are retained more strongly.
■ Separation of compounds with multiple double bonds
Non-conjugated double bonds are retained more strongly than conjugated double bonds. Furthermore, the closer the double bonds are to each other, the faster they elute.
