The sample of the main image presents the practical theme of "classifying bolts and nuts and counting each of their quantities." For the main event on October 10, we have prepared a different practical theme, but I will explain regarding the bolts and nuts. The necessary image processing involves labeling and feature extraction. Once we understand the features, we can classify whether it is a bolt or a nut based on "circularity" and derive their respective quantities. Furthermore, in response to the need for "higher speed," we can say, "let's hardware the labeling circuit (using FPGA)," which can also be adapted to applications where tact time is essential. We will learn through practical exercises in a seminar with Japan Techno Center. Our company is always engaged in such development.

Free membership registrationWe are primarily engaged in development, and after a year, we will be holding an "Image Processing Seminar." The organizer will be the Japan Tech Center. The date of the event has been set for October 10 (Friday). In recent years, online seminars have increased, but we are committed to delivering the latest information from our actual development and addressing the "current issues" faced by participants through Q&A, which is why we prefer an in-person seminar format. The instructors will consist of two members: the founder of K.I. Technology Co., Ltd. and an engineer from our company who is responsible for the SoCFPGA division. If you are interested in this article and wish to inquire about participation with the organizer, please make use of the "Instructor Introduction Discount." You should be able to search for it by entering "Image Processing" in the "Keyword" section of the Japan Tech Center's seminar page. The seminar will focus on themes from software development to hardware development. Due to a decrease in the number of players capable of hardware development for acceleration across the industry, please feel free to ask questions during this seminar. Means of achieving image processing: [Versatility] PC Software > GPU Software > FPGA Board [Speed] (Measured Values) FPGA Board > GPU Software > PC Software

Free membership registrationThis software allows you to change the focus and magnification of up to 16 microscope images taken with a different focus. There are no restrictions on the content of the images, so it can also be applied to images taken by changing time instead of focus, as well as images not taken with a microscope. It is ideal for educational purposes as multiple people can discuss while viewing the screen. We recommend it for the following situations: - Remote diagnosis - Presentations such as slide seminars - Discussions among multiple participants 【Main Features】 - Multi-focus display (focus change) - Scrolling function (stage movement) - Zoom function (objective lens change) - Marker function (recording points of interest and adding comments) - Full-screen display (added from V2.4) - Scaler function (added from V2.4) There are two types available: the 'Full Spec Version' that allows image generation and viewing, and the 'Viewer Version' that only allows viewing of generated images. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company specializing in image processing. Using matching and image synthesis technology, we stitch together multiple images taken in succession. The result is a smooth composite image where the seams are indistinguishable. To showcase the "stitching (synthesis) performance" of our image stitching system, we intentionally captured images using a poor (highly variable) mechanical system. Each time, the three-dimensional map of the subject shakes significantly, but after capturing and synthesizing the images, we automatically correct for both the "position of the seams" and the "smoothness of the brightness at the seams," making it appear as a single image. This high-quality composite image is obtained quickly, allowing for real-time display during synthesis. There are many application products that utilize the "image stitching" technology. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company specializing in image processing. Tracking is a pattern matching technique that corrects the rotation and positional deviation of the input image, aligning it to the same position consistently. The feature of this demo is its ability to detect rotational deviations quickly and accurately compared to other pattern matching methods. By switching the tracking ON/OFF at regular intervals, it demonstrates how a rotating target comes to a complete stop. The object placed at the center of the image input from a USB camera is the target, and it maintains its position and angle even with movement and rotation. By processing only the logo, it detects rotation and positional deviation, displaying the adjustments by rotating or moving it in the opposite direction, creating the illusion that "the background is rotating" or that "only the logo is being cut out."

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company specializing in image processing. We connect a camera mounted on LEGO via wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and perform both 'white line recognition' and 'signal recognition' simultaneously using just one PC, controlling the LEGO car via Bluetooth. The challenge in image processing is to solve how to achieve performance without compromising simplicity, thereby expanding the range of applications for the solutions. ■ Driving Control Considering the limited amount of information transmitted via wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth, as well as potential time lags, the key point is how simply we can achieve directional control. The system operates by making gradual corrections, similar to how a human driver would: if it veers too far to the right, it corrects to the left, and if it veers too far to the left, it corrects to the right. ■ Signal Recognition We took on the surprisingly challenging task of recognizing 'color' with a computer. The perception of 'color' changes based on the color components in the light source and the reflectivity of the object, both for human eyes and cameras. Additionally, we addressed the issue of not being able to know the characteristics of the light source in various environments, such as offices or exhibition venues, by incorporating a feature that allows the system to learn 'color' on-site.

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company specializing in image processing development. In the scratch correction demo, we first capture an image of Mount Fuji from a camera video on the left side of the screen. Next, we composite a scratch image onto the captured image to generate a damaged image with some data missing. On the left side of the screen, you can see how the system automatically identifies the missing areas from this damaged image and gradually repairs the scratches through repeated correction processes. While the human eye can easily distinguish the missing areas, detecting scratches (missing areas) from image data is quite challenging. Therefore, we focus on the unnatural changes in the missing areas and repeatedly perform corrections to infer from the surrounding pixels, making the image restoration more natural.

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company specializing in image processing. We introduce a technology that allows for the simultaneous reading of multiple QR codes and two-dimensional codes in a single shot. We have implemented processing that can read two-dimensional codes that are tilted or slanted, achieving high-speed simultaneous reading of multiple codes. Detecting QR codes can be challenging when they are printed in color, as it becomes difficult to distinguish between the QR code and the background color. Additionally, QR codes that are tilted may become distorted in the captured image, making them undetectable. Our unique preprocessing corrects these issues, enabling reading in various environments. If there is no distortion in the details of the QR codes in the captured image, we can read all QR codes within the camera's field of view at once. Even with preprocessing for exploring and correcting the entire image, our system is optimized for PC operation, ensuring high speed and stability for simultaneous reading. Moreover, we can also support other two-dimensional codes, such as DataMatrix, in addition to QR codes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationThis is a technical appeal from a company that develops image processing. "We created a demonstration for an exhibition to show how much we can assist with what the 'human eye' does. We mounted a small camera in the driver's seat of a small N-gauge train. The camera is a pinhole camera, and the images are wireless, so the quality is very poor. We challenged ourselves to see 'how far we can go' under these unfavorable conditions. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationThis is an example of added value different from image processing. LEGO is used as a wireless-controlled car with a motor. No sensors or CPUs from LEGO are used at all. By equipping it with a wireless camera for parking lots and incorporating white line recognition and signal recognition functions, a demonstration of an autonomous driving car was completed. I tried this as an application example of image processing.
