A case of automating the product set and extraction work for our press machine has been featured on Omron's website. Recently, the manufacturing industry has been facing a labor shortage, and in rural areas, there has been an outflow of young engineers, making countermeasures urgent. In response, we introduced two collaborative robots to automate the product set and extraction work for the press machine. By in-house developing the robot system, we trained our internal personnel. As a result, we achieved complete automation of the target tasks, contributing to labor reduction and personnel development. [Key Initiatives] ■ Reduced work time ■ Improved visibility ■ High-precision control

To address the labor shortage in press processing, it was necessary to achieve "automation of product set and retrieval" and to "develop in-house technical personnel" to realize this. Therefore, by introducing two collaborative robots to share the tasks of supplying and retrieving products, we achieved the specified takt time and realized labor reduction. Furthermore, by internalizing the robot system, we were able to accumulate implementation know-how and develop in-house engineers. Additionally, the introduction of robots has improved employees' awareness of participating in robot utilization. **Three Key Points for Automating Press Operations** - Movable and capable of relocation - Standard camera installation - Easy programming without skills using the dedicated software tool "TMflow"
