Bending is a processing method where an object is placed on a V-shaped mold and pressed from above to bend it at a desired angle. In general manufacturing processes using steel materials, bending is the next step after cutting. Specifically, at Sotetsu, bending is performed after cutting with lasers, gas, shears, and band saws. We accommodate various sizes and angles of orders with three bending machines (press brakes).

Free membership registrationBand saw cutting is a processing method in which a belt-shaped saw blade rotates at high speed in one direction to cut the target material. It is suitable for cutting structural steel shapes such as H-shaped steel, U-shaped steel, and L-shaped steel. At Sōtetsu, we have three band saw cutting machines that can handle not only vertical cuts but also orders for angled cuts. In addition to the aforementioned H-shaped steel, U-shaped steel, and L-shaped steel, we also keep a constant stock of round steel, square steel, and gas pipes (SGP, carbon steel pipes for piping), and we can respond to orders from one piece with a short lead time.

Free membership registrationShear cutting is a processing method that uses the same principle as scissors and guillotines, known as "shearing." Specifically, an object is inserted between the upper and lower blades, and it is cut with a powerful shearing force. As a method for cutting steel materials, it is the most basic technique, and since it cuts the object with a straight blade, the cross-section is straight and cannot accommodate curves. At Sotetsu, we have four shear cutting machines, including corner shears, and we look forward to your orders for shear cutting of steel plates, as well as stainless steel and aluminum.

Free membership registrationGas cutting is a processing method that heats the target to its ignition temperature and then blows high-purity oxygen onto that area to cut it. Basically, the target is limited to steel plates. It is a cutting method that utilizes the heat generated from the chemical reaction between iron and oxygen, and actual gas cutting is performed by simultaneously blowing preheating flames and cutting oxygen from the cutting nozzle. The characteristic of gas cutting lies in its ability to handle thickness, and at Sōtetsu, we always keep steel plates with thicknesses ranging from 32 to 200 mm in stock and are waiting for orders from customers with three gas cutting machines.

Free membership registrationLaser cutting is a processing method that melts the target by focusing the laser transmitted from the oscillator through a focusing lens and then blows away the molten part with assist gas emitted from a nozzle arranged coaxially with the focusing lens to achieve cutting. Laser cutting is suitable for small-batch production of various types due to its ability to perform high-speed and high-quality cutting without contact. Sotetsu is enhancing its capability to respond to small-batch production of various types with three laser cutting machines that have different oscillator outputs and processing table sizes.
