This is a surface treatment method where a buff wheel, rotated at low to high speeds, is used to polish the surface of the product to be finished. The cutting effect of various grit abrasive buffs allows for the surface to be refined from rough to fine, up to the final finish. Choosing the appropriate buff for the material, shape, and finish (from rough buff to mirror finish) is important. It is used for pre-polishing (lower buff polishing) before painting or plating of materials such as aluminum and stainless steel, as well as for hairline processing of stainless steel, aluminum, and others, or for mirror polishing (buff finish, SPBF) and for polishing before electrolytic polishing (EP).
