Additionally, the ceramic shell method has advantages in dimensional accuracy because it involves pressing wax into a mold to create a wax pattern, and it also allows for the casting of relatively large castings. The key to productivity lies in wax injection with minimal failures. This process involves injecting melted wax for inkjet use into a rubber mold to create a wax model that is the same shape as the original. Since mass production is established in this process, efficiency and the quality of the wax model significantly affect productivity and the labor involved in the subsequent processes after casting. ■Features■ Titanium has extremely excellent properties such as "rust-resistant," "lightweight and strong," and "low metal allergy." The titanium oxide on the surface of titanium acts as a photocatalyst, and it has become clear that it is a very useful metal for human life due to its antibacterial properties and bioelectric current control. Its applications are said to be infinite. ■Properties of Titanium■ Titanium can express various colors through anodization, and by simply replacing conventional metals with titanium, stronger or lighter products can be obtained. ■What constitutes good titanium castings■ Titanium has a strong affinity for oxygen and has the property of extracting large amounts of oxygen from all substances. As a result, an oxide film called the α-case is formed from the surface of the casting to the interior, approximately 0.5mm thick. This oxide film is very hard yet brittle, and a round rod of Φ1mm can break just by bending it by hand. If it does not break even when bent over 90 degrees, it can be judged as a good titanium casting with a thin oxide film.
