At the 6th "Monozukuri Japan Grand Prize," Nippon Steel Stainless Corporation's duplex stainless steel received the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award." This exhibition item was produced at Alloy (Optical Processing Center) at the request of the company. The exhibit includes a bolt joint (SUS821L1) made from the award-winning duplex stainless steel, as well as a bolt joint made from SUS304 for comparison. The duplex steel allows for thinner plates (lighter weight) and fewer bolts.
