AGC's solar power-generating glass has been adopted at Takanawa Gateway Station, which opened on March 14, 2020, in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Takanawa Gateway Station aims to be a gateway connecting Tokyo to the world, based on the concept of "Global Gateway Shinagawa." It is positioned as a place to start new initiatives, with the introduction of the latest station service facilities and ongoing demonstration experiments. As part of this, AGC's "Sunjule" series, which combines solar power generation capabilities with the bright spaces characteristic of glass, was adopted from the perspective of wanting to balance the environmental conservation technologies promoted by JR East with a design that ensures ample natural light. The "Sunjule" has been installed in two locations: the roof of the platform for trains heading towards Tokyo and the glass walls inside the station, contributing to a station that considers both the environment and comfort. (Note: "Eco Station" initiatives involve the introduction of various environmental conservation technologies, such as energy-saving and renewable energy, at the station. The four pillars are "Energy Saving," "Energy Creation," "Eco Experience," and "Environmental Harmony," with various eco-friendly measures implemented at the station.) Free membership registrationThis product can generate electricity from various glass components of buildings (such as windows) and contributes to decarbonization (CO2 reduction). It is particularly effective in situations where solar panels cannot be installed on the roof. (It can be utilized in facades, skylights, louvers, handrails, walls, etc.) Additionally, it can be used without issues in snow-prone areas due to its vertical installation. It contributes to the carbon neutrality of companies and municipalities and the realization of Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB)! There are also cases eligible for subsidies besides ZEB. We can provide one-stop consultation, including equipment, through the AGC Group, so please feel free to contact us if you are interested. 【Features】 - The grid-like arrangement of cells creates a unique space with light and shadow. - Light passes through the gaps between cells and surrounding areas, achieving a balanced lighting and shading effect. - Various installation methods are possible, including frameless options, ensuring design flexibility for creating open spaces. - Leveraging technology cultivated from building glass, we supply large reinforced or heat-treated glass modules with a consistent responsibility system up to installation. - The modules are highly durable and have a long lifespan. - With abundant design and construction capabilities for openings, we ensure a reliable power generation system.

Free membership registrationAGC's solar power generation glass "Sunjoule" has been adopted for the entrance canopy of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology's Zero Emission International Joint Research Center. The Zero Emission International Joint Research Center was established in January 2020 at the Tsukuba Center West Office of AIST, where research is conducted in collaboration with some of the world's leading national research institutions to create innovative environmental innovations aimed at realizing a zero-emission society. The entrance canopy of the center is designed as the "Zero Emission Tree," a symbol of a decarbonized society, inspired by the rich trees on the premises that tell the history of AIST. The installed Sunjoule has a power generation capacity of 6.9 kW, equivalent to the entrance lighting power inside the building, and its arrangement of cells mimicking leaves creates a dappled sunlight effect. Free membership registrationAGC's solar power generation glass has been adopted for the new campus of Singapore University of Technology and Design, scheduled to open in 2024. This campus aims to obtain the SLE (Super Low Energy) certification established by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, which is awarded to buildings that reduce energy consumption and generation by over 40% compared to conventional buildings. The adoption of solar power generation glass contributes to this goal. By generating power on-site with AGC's solar power generation glass, the campus will reduce its dependence on large-scale power plants, while also allowing for natural lighting, creating bright spaces.
