This time, we would like to introduce "deep hole measurement" and "deep hole machining." Do you have any difficulties with machining methods or measurement methods for fine hole machining products with depths of 100mm or even up to 300mm? Our company can provide high-precision measurement using roundness measuring instruments. *While some similar measurements can be performed with a gantry-type three-dimensional measuring instrument, it can measure a maximum of about 50 reference points, whereas the roundness measuring instrument can measure over 10,000 reference points, allowing for a more precise evaluation. *Measurement results can be provided as data for shape confirmation or in document format. In deep hole machining, there are cases where it is difficult to respond using NC lathes or machining centers. Our company flexibly accommodates deep hole machining using gun drilling, as well as long parts and high-precision components, in collaboration with partner factories. We can meet strict quality requirements such as roundness, cylindricity, and straightness of 0.005mm, and surface roughness corresponding to JIS symbol ∇∇∇∇ (Ra0.2). With our track record in precision machining and quality management system, you can trust us with your requests. Please feel free to contact us.

This month, we will introduce "Electropolishing." What is "Electropolishing"? Electropolishing is a surface treatment technique that uses an acidic electropolishing solution to apply direct current to the metal surface, achieving smoothing and cleaning by microscopically dissolving it. It is widely used in advanced fields that require high cleanliness, such as medical components, food machinery, and semiconductor and liquid crystal manufacturing equipment. Features of Electropolishing: ★ Smooths out the irregularities on the surface of stainless steel, resulting in a glossy finish and excellent corrosion resistance. Since electropolishing is a method that microscopically dissolves the metal surface, it finishes flat at the micron level. ★ The surface is smooth and resistant to contamination. Because the metal surface is dissolved and polished in the solution, any contaminants on the surface are removed during the process. The surface after electropolishing is highly smooth and resistant to new contaminants, ensuring excellent cleanliness. ★ Scratches and pinholes that are not visible with buff polishing become apparent. Buff polishing is a method that grinds the metal surface. Therefore, while it may appear smooth at first glance, numerous scratches are present when viewed under magnification. ★ A passive film is formed by electropolishing, making it less prone to rust. A strong passive film is formed on the metal surface, improving corrosion resistance. Please contact us through the related links!

Now, in the previous session, we introduced our polishing equipment, but our company is also focusing on providing added value through technologies related to processing. This time, we would like to introduce our initiatives regarding "welding support." "Do you have any concerns about welding?" - The division of processes is taking too much time. - We can't find a supplier that can handle everything at once. With just one drawing, we can provide a one-stop service from welding to inspection. By consolidating processes, we can improve both delivery times and quality. ● Areas with proven delivery records Parts for semiconductor manufacturing equipment / Parts for food machinery / Parts for machine tools, and more. ● You can also trust us with leak checks after welding! We can handle parts that require high reliability with the following inspection methods: - Pressurized holding method - Underwater method - Soap water application method - Penetrant testing - Helium leak testing Please consult with us first! We will work alongside you to propose the optimal solution for your challenges.

Now, in the previous session, we introduced our robotic equipment, but our company is also focusing on providing added value through technologies related to processing. This time, as part of that effort, we would like to introduce our initiatives regarding the "grinding machine." In addition to high-precision capabilities in cutting processing, we have introduced cylindrical grinding machines to meet stricter quality requirements. As a result, we achieve a consistent response from processing to grinding using in-house equipment, providing high value in terms of both precision and efficiency. ~Do you have any of these concerns?~ - Looking for a manufacturer that can handle both cutting and grinding processes - Searching for a manufacturer that can perform grinding on high-precision parts - Wanting a single contractor for multi-process grinding such as flat grinding and internal/external grinding With our integrated system, we will solve challenges related to "delivery time," "precision," and "cost." For products that require quality confirmation, we can handle everything in-house from the prototype stage to mass production. We will also actively take on projects that other companies find difficult to handle.

Free membership registrationThis month, we would like to introduce our "robot equipment." Our company is also focusing on automation using robots developed by our own technology department. As the first step, we have introduced a robot system to the MC machining center at our headquarters factory in Saitama. This robot equipment is equipped with a vice changer, which eliminates unstable factors in workpiece attachment, enabling consistently high-precision and stable machining. This technology has improved the uniformity and quality of processes that previously relied on manual labor, allowing us to provide our customers with more reliable products. Additionally, the process that used to take 2.5 months has been shortened to 1.5 months, contributing to improved delivery capabilities. As a result, we can ensure smooth deliveries even for tight schedule projects, achieving both increased production efficiency and enhanced customer satisfaction. Moving forward, we will continue to pursue technological improvements, stable supply of high-quality products, rapid response, and cost optimization, providing solutions that best meet our customers' needs. If you have any inquiries regarding projects, please feel free to reach out to us.

This time, we would like to introduce the wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) that has been added to our Kagoshima factory. Wire electrical discharge machining involves using a wire electrode to create a discharge phenomenon in a processing fluid, allowing for the melting and removal of the workpiece while machining the contour shape. With NC control, we can process complex two-dimensional shapes using the XY axis and UV axis, and it is also possible to machine three-dimensional shapes (with taper). *Supported materials: hardened steel, high-speed steel, carbide, copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, molybdenum steel, etc. If the workpiece is conductive, we can accurately machine complex two-dimensional shapes regardless of material or hardness (including heat-treated products), so please feel free to consult with us.

This month, I would like to introduce our "Vietnam Factory," which recently held its opening ceremony. The Vietnam Factory is our third overseas facility, following the factories in China and the Philippines. Construction was undertaken to further increase our processing capacity, and it was scheduled to start operations in September of last year. However, due to the damage caused by Typhoon No. 11, we had to go through recovery efforts, and we were finally able to hold the opening ceremony in March. The factory is located in Quang Ninh Province in northern Vietnam (about a two-hour drive from Hanoi), within the Amata City Ha Long Industrial Park, which is an economic zone. Additionally, this province has ranked first in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in Vietnam for seven consecutive years, providing a robust business environment with excellent infrastructure and human resources. As for processing equipment, similar to our other locations, we have introduced Japanese-made processing machines as the main models, along with MC/BNC/general-purpose machines, three-dimensional/two-dimensional measuring instruments, and optical microscopes. We are focusing on creating a system that can produce both square and round products with Japanese quality. We will continue to make daily improvements to meet our customers' expectations, and we will work together as a company, so we appreciate your support.

Starting this year, we will regularly distribute "Parts Seiko NEWS," which will include announcements about new equipment introductions and examples of problem-solving. We hope it will be of help to everyone. For the first issue, we would like to introduce our Shirakawa Factory. The Shirakawa Factory is located in Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, and it has the largest number of lathes among domestic factories. While it may be strongly associated with round parts, we also have about 30 machining centers, allowing us to handle both round and square parts, just like other factories! Please refer to the related materials for information on the representative models owned by the Shirakawa Factory. Additionally, we can provide a comprehensive service that includes vacuum cleaning and vacuum packaging after machining, so we would be grateful if you could contact us if you have any concerns. (We plan to introduce "cleaning services" in more detail at a later date.)
