Let me introduce you to "surface grinding." This technology involves using grinding wheels to precisely grind the surface of the workpiece, achieving high flatness and parallelism. It primarily utilizes a machine tool known as a surface grinding machine. Due to its versatility in accommodating various products, it is widely used in grinding processes and is commonly employed for finishing precision parts and tools. 【Our Features】 ■ Proficient in grinding various metals ■ Capable of achieving dimensional accuracy within ±0.001mm, at a sub-micron level ■ Proven results in gauge processing with an accuracy of ±0.5μm (0.0005mm) ■ Able to perform geometric tolerances with six-sided machining *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationLet me introduce you to "Profile Grinding." This technology is one of the processing methods suitable for precision mold component machining, requiring high accuracy. To achieve extremely fine grinding at the unit level, product drawings are enlarged by approximately several dozen times and then traced out. Next, the object and the product drawing are superimposed, and the outline of the material is processed by manually or mechanically tracing it with a grinding wheel along the shape. Our company has introduced profile grinding machines capable of performing very fine level work, equipped with measuring projectors. [Conditions Suitable for This Processing] ■ Conditions involving small, complex shapes ■ Conditions requiring micron-level precision ■ Conditions for metal parts with fine grooves, narrow pitches, and extremely small sizes *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationCermet, one of the cutting tool materials, has very high hardness at elevated temperatures, excellent oxidation resistance, and low affinity with metals, along with many advantages. However, on the other hand, it also has high resistance to chipping and plastic deformation, making it difficult to handle. In this column, we introduce the characteristics of cermet tools, the differences between cermet and carbide tools, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of cermet tools. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. *For more details, please check the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case where our technical proposal significantly improved tool life. The customer in question was using cermet but was troubled by the fact that the cutting edge would chip after machining only 2 to 3 workpieces. In response, we made adjustments to the cermet tool by changing the angle and adding an R0.2 radius. As a result of implementing this proposal, durability improved, allowing the tool that previously chipped after a few pieces to continuously process workpieces. [Challenges] - The cermet tool chips after machining only 2 to 3 workpieces. - A large stock of tools must be maintained at all times. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case where our technical proposal improved the sharpness and durability of tool cutting edges. The customer in question came to us with concerns that the cutting edge of their re-sharpened turning tool was chipping immediately upon use. In response, we suggested aligning the tool's machining direction with the grinding direction. To match the machining method with the grinding direction, we changed the grinding direction from horizontal to vertical, which improved both cutting performance and durability. [Challenges] - The re-sharpened turning tool was chipping immediately, despite being intended for turning operations. - There was a discrepancy in lifespan between new and re-sharpened tools, making inventory management difficult. - Increased setup changes and more re-sharpening led to higher costs. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case where the lifespan of a lathe center head was extended by changing the material from high-speed steel to carbide. The customer in question approached us because the lifespan of their currently used lathe center head was short and they wanted to change the material to carbide (originally high-speed steel). We proposed adding precise management tolerances by measuring the taper section to 11° (to align the holder and center head). This was achieved by precisely machining what was originally managed in degrees to ±5’. [Challenges] ■ The lifespan of the lathe center head is short, so they want to change the material to carbide. ■ They created their own version based on commercially available center heads, but there was no dedicated holder that matched, so it could not be used for actual processing. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
