We will introduce how to choose a partner that can maximize the benefits of polymer adhesive bonding. Currently, there are few companies capable of handling large products. For example, at Shinshi, we can accommodate products up to about 5 meters in length for press molding. By selecting a company that can consistently handle everything from pre-processing to post-processing, you can often gain advantages in cost and delivery time. When choosing a partner for adhesive bonding of plastics, including acrylic, select a company that possesses the technical skills, know-how, equipment, and track record to fully meet the client's requirements, while being well-versed in the characteristics of the resin. If you have any questions or concerns regarding plastic processing, please feel free to consult with Shinshi. [Key Points] - Proficient in both polymer adhesive bonding and solvent bonding - Capable of handling everything in-house - Able to accommodate large products *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe will introduce the bonding process of "polymer adhesive." First, a gasket about 5mm thick is placed between the acrylic sheets. This creates a space for pouring the adhesive between the sheets and a wall that seals the space to hold back the adhesive. Next, the adhesive is poured in, a chemical reaction occurs, and stress is removed through heat treatment. The acrylic is allowed to cool slowly and naturally until it is nearly the same temperature as the outside air, and then it is processed into the desired shape. Most products are finished in a clean state from the start, so they are not polished much unless there are scratches. However, if bending processing is done, marks from the mold will remain, so polishing is generally performed. Depending on the product's application, precision and appearance may be inspected visually or with instruments. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the applications and examples of "polymer adhesion" that our company has worked on. Not only practical items, but also products that require aesthetic appeal, such as monuments and displays, are areas where our technology excels. For example, at Shinshi, we have worked on the legs of a spherical table with a diameter of 900mm and a vanity. From the product images, you can see close-ups of the polymer adhesion areas between the base, legs, and front panel. The beautiful processing without distortion is a notable feature. Please feel free to contact us when you need our services. 【Applications and Examples of Polymer Adhesion】 ■ Vanity *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the applications and examples of "polymer adhesion" that our company has developed. Polymer adhesion is also valuable in experimental devices aimed at "visualization." For example, it is used in the core created for an experimental device at a nuclear power plant, and in a visualization device for water flow created for the needs of the military, such as submarine propellers. This technology is one of the methods for adhering acrylic resin. Compared to conventional solvent adhesion, it is characterized by higher strength and durability, and it is less prone to bubbles. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the applications and examples of "polymer adhesion" that our company has developed. For instance, when heavy rain causes water to flow into subways or underground shopping areas, it is difficult to determine how much water is coming in and what is flowing in with a typical concrete water stop board. Therefore, Shinshi has contributed to disaster prevention and mitigation by creating a "visible water stop board." Please feel free to contact us when you need assistance. 【Applications and Examples of Polymer Adhesion】 ■ Water stop board installed in the passageway of an underground shopping area *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the applications and examples of "polymer adhesion" that our company has been involved in. While seawalls and breakwaters are typically made of solid concrete, at Shinshi, we are working on the productization of "visible seawalls" and "visible breakwaters" by partially using thick acrylic panels to enhance the landscape. In the seawalls we are developing, we aim to improve aesthetics while maintaining strength by sandwiching acrylic panels. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. Free membership registrationA representative example of "polymer adhesion," which ensures strength, durability, and transparency, is the acrylic tanks found mainly in aquariums. Our company has a track record of polymer bonding ten acrylic sheets, each 50mm thick, to ultimately create a large tank with a thickness of 550mm and dimensions of 15,000mm in width and 8,000mm in height. Due to the size of the product, there are no machines capable of handling it, so parts made in the factory are bonded on-site, and the bonded panels are polished, with about 90% of the processing done by hand. For example, the polishing process involves not just a part but the entire panel to ensure uniformity in distortion. However, due to the characteristics of acrylic, over-polishing can change the refractive index, making it difficult to see inside the tank. This aspect particularly tests the skill level of the workers. Free membership registrationThere are two methods for bonding acrylic resin: "polymer adhesion" and "solvent adhesion." Solvent adhesion is the more common bonding method, but the main difference in performance is strength. Polymer adhesion boasts about 2 to 3 times the strength compared to solvent adhesion. Transparency is the same for both polymer and solvent adhesion. However, polymer adhesion is less likely to trap bubbles, making it suitable for products where appearance is important. On the other hand, solvent adhesion has advantages in terms of cost and delivery time. There are differences depending on the thickness of the board, but for example, creating a 1m square aquarium using polymer adhesion costs about three times more than using solvent adhesion. Regarding delivery time, polymer adhesion requires about 24 hours for preparation and adhesive curing before bonding. Including finishing processes after bonding, it takes about one week in total. This is approximately three times the duration of solvent adhesion. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registration"Polymer adhesion" is not merely a method of "connecting A and B," but rather a bonding technique that integrates A and B at the molecular level. It is characterized not only by its strength and durability but also by its unchanged transparency. For example, as the thickness of glass increases, it develops a color known as "glass color," and its transparency significantly decreases. In contrast, acrylic sheets maintain their transparency regardless of how many layers are stacked. Even after the adhesive has cured, its high transparency makes it difficult for an untrained eye to discern where the bonding has occurred. [Features] ■ Strength ■ Durability ■ Transparency *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registration"Polymer Adhesion" is a bonding method specialized for acrylic resin. It is often used for bonding large items, and the adhesive used is an acrylic monomer called "Syrup." This is a liquid form of acrylic, completed by mixing chemical substances. When the adhesive is poured between two acrylic sheets and left at a certain temperature, a chemical reaction occurs between the adhesive and the acrylic sheets, resulting in the adhesive and acrylic sheets merging. In other words, acrylic sheet A and acrylic sheet B bond as if they have become one. [Features] - One of the bonding methods for acrylic resin - Higher strength and durability compared to conventional solvent bonding, and less prone to bubbles - Requires strict management of preparation, processing conditions such as temperature and humidity, and skilled advanced processing techniques *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationVacuum forming is a molding method that applies atmospheric pressure to sheet (resin sheet) molding. The sheet (resin sheet) is softened using a heater, and by creating a vacuum in the space (gap) between the softened sheet (resin sheet) and the raised molding die, the sheet (resin sheet) is made to adhere closely to the mold, resulting in the desired shape. In vacuum forming, the internal dimensions (inner dimensions) of the basic molded product serve as the reference dimensions, and molding is done using a male mold (positive mold). In this case, there are no mold marks on the product surface (outside of the mold). However, the product's form will have a softer and more textured finish due to the thickness of the sheet. In contrast, if a sharper molding expression similar to injection molding is desired, pressure forming, which applies a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure, is effective. Molding is done using a female mold (negative mold), allowing for accurate external dimensions (outer dimensions) of the molded product. However, in this case, the mold will touch the product surface, so mold marks cannot be avoided. We address mold marks with treatments such as blasting. Additionally, undercuts can also be molded.
