KEYTEC Corporation (Location: 11th Floor, Kobe Commerce and Trade Center Building, 5-1-14 Hamabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture; CEO: Kazuhiko Iwata) manufactures and sells non-destructive testing equipment centered around "electromagnetic wave radar for concrete internal exploration." On June 1, 2021, they launched the "StructScan SIR-EZ LXT," an electromagnetic wave radar for concrete internal exploration. Japan's social infrastructure, including highways, tunnels, and bridges, is increasingly suffering from serious aging, necessitating repair and renewal work for maintenance. An essential tool for these projects is the multi-functional rebar detection device "StructScan SIR-EZ Series," which can diagnose the presence of rebar, piping, thickness, and voids within concrete. The newly released model is a "simple function model" that selectively incorporates the minimum necessary features from the currently available high-performance rebar detection device, the "StructScan SIR-EZ XT," which is a high-spec model. This new model combines cutting-edge functionality with remarkable cost performance, making it a standard device for exploration sites.

Product details: https://www.key-t.co.jp/wp-content/themes/keytec/products/pdf/smartrock3.pdf This product measures temperature by embedding the main sensor and temperature sensor cable entirely within the concrete. It simplifies installation compared to conventional products, eliminating the need for cable retrieval and repair work. Additionally, it can estimate concrete compressive strength from accumulated temperature, assisting in determining the timing for removing concrete molds. (Unlike traditional compressive strength tests, it can accurately measure the internal temperature changes of freshly poured concrete in real-time.)
