The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is rapidly gaining popularity in weak current and semiconductor factories that face issues with electrostatic discharge. The IEC has established guidelines for uniforms worn to suppress electrostatic discharge, stating that "all parts of the clothing must be electrically continuous" and "the surface resistance value of the clothing must be 1.0×10 (Ω) or less." This IEC-compliant uniform is designed to improve the electrical conductivity of the clothing by incorporating conductive fibers in a grid pattern on the surface, aiming to reduce the impact of static electricity on manufactured products. It is recommended to wear this high electrostatic discharge uniform, which is at a higher level than the conventional JIS T8118 standard, in factories where there is a possibility of being affected by electrostatic discharge.
