Since 2001, the company has been engaged in zero-emission activities (reducing the amount of industrial waste sent to external final disposal) as the first step in its efforts toward waste management. In the process, it concluded that quantitative understanding of the waste processing flow is essential and contacted JEMS. As a result, our company has visualized the waste processing flow with a unified system across the entire organization. The most important and complex aspect of waste management operations, the management of manifest issuance at the generation sites, has been systematized to reduce the risk of legal violations and the burden on personnel, while also automating annual reports to the authorities, thus achieving improved operational efficiency. The company is engaged in the collection and transportation of industrial waste on a national scale, and improper waste disposal could lead to the revocation of the collection and transportation permits issued by local governments. Therefore, we inquired with JEMS about the proper management of waste using their system. As a result, to properly manage the industrial waste generated by group companies, we have been operating a manifest management system and a waste management center since October 2014. We have achieved proper management through the JEMS system, which does not allow the discharge of waste unless the processing is appropriate. The CO2 emission calculation function automatically calculates the CO2 emissions related to waste disposal from the electronic manifest information registered daily, allowing for the accumulation of data for integrated reports and other purposes.
