[Application Example: Preheating Aluminum Ingots in Aluminum Melting Plants] Recently, attention has been drawn to preheating ingots to approximately 450°C to 500°C with "MAGHEAT" before introducing them into the molten bath. Currently, ingots at room temperature are being introduced into tower-type melting furnaces, causing them to drop to the bottom of the molten bath upon entry, damaging the furnace floor and generating a large amount of oxides. For a 10 kg ingot, it is said to take about one hour to dissolve in the molten bath. By introducing preheated ingots at 450°C to 500°C, it is possible to achieve complete melting of the entire bath within 5 to 10 minutes.
