"Castor oil" is a non-edible plant oil that is extracted from the seeds of the castor plant and has distinctive chemical characteristics. This oil is an ester of fatty acids and glycerin, but about 90% of the fatty acids are ricinoleic acid, which has a hydroxyl group (-OH), giving it unique properties that differ from other plant oils. Due to its excellent stability, color retention, flexibility, pigment dispersion, wettability, lubricity, low-temperature characteristics, electrical properties, and physiological properties, it is used in various applications such as lacquers, leather, printing inks, sealants, lubricants, stationery, cosmetics, electrical insulation materials, and pharmaceuticals.
