Titanium (Ti) has a specific gravity of 4.7, which is about two-thirds that of steel, making it lightweight, and it has high tensile strength and elasticity. It is widely used in aircraft components, medical instruments, and sporting goods. However, it is difficult to machine and polish, making it one of the most challenging materials to process among metals. Our company can handle the processing of all titanium alloys, including pure titanium, 6Al4V titanium, and beta titanium. We also offer surface coloring through anodizing and laser marking processing. "Mg/Magnesium" is lightweight (specific gravity 1.8) among practical metals, and compared to resin, it excels in strength, heat resistance, and heat dissipation, and has good recyclability, which has drawn attention to its expanding use in automotive parts, TVs, and laptops. However, Mg is highly reactive and easily combustible, and shavings and grinding dust can pose an explosion risk. At Shizutec, we have been engaged in Mg research early on and have established safe processing technologies. These technologies are utilized in fishing reel bodies, bicycle parts, and sports equipment. In "Laser Marking," characters and symbols are engraved onto the workpiece by altering and melting the surface through laser irradiation. Additionally, it is possible to create high-precision patterns using not only characters and symbols but also CAD and image data. "Emulsion cleaning" demonstrates unprecedented high cleaning power by emulsifying hydrocarbon-based cleaning agents. It addresses not only oil-based stains but also water-soluble stains. In "Air Blast," processing is performed by injecting abrasive material at high speed using compressed air, causing it to collide with the workpiece. Additionally, depending on the type of abrasive material and processing conditions, it is possible to achieve a matte finish, deburring, surface cleaning, and peening (introducing residual compressive stress). "Barrel polishing" is a processing method that involves placing workpieces along with granular polishing materials (media), compounds, and water into a barrel, which is then rotated and moved up and down to perform polishing. Since the media inside the barrel is small and can move freely, finishing is possible even in areas that are difficult to polish with machines. It is commonly used for finishing polishing, but by selecting the abrasive particles and polishing agents, it can accommodate a wide range of applications from processes requiring high grinding power, such as burr removal and excess material removal, to gloss and mirror finishes.
