The "WA-TOWER500" is a disaster preparedness storage tower that can charge 500 smartphones with just one unit. It contains 10 sets of air power batteries that generate electricity as long as there is air, along with dedicated USB ports. It is also designed for distributed evacuation, allowing it to be used in necessary locations such as offices during emergencies. Fluorescent lamp ballasts that have been in use for over 40 years may contain highly toxic PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). The PCB Special Measures Law, revised in 2016, mandates the disposal of PCBs within a specified timeframe. Violations of this obligation can result in improvement orders, penalties, and enforcement actions. The disposal cost for ballasts containing high concentrations of PCBs is approximately 100,000 yen per unit, making it quite expensive. Rejenn offers a thorough investigation and assessment of the PCB content in the ballasts used and stored by our customers, conducted by specialized workers with high sorting expertise and skills. We will disassemble ballasts that contain PCBs as much as possible and properly sort the waste by concentration, significantly reducing disposal costs for our customers. We will clean and neutralize transformers with PCB concentrations in insulating oil ranging from over 0.5 ppm to 5000 ppm (0.5%). A mobile processing unit will be brought to the storage location, connected to the transformer, and cleaning will be performed in a closed system, eliminating concerns about PCB leakage, dispersion, or worker exposure. After neutralization, cutting and dismantling can be done at a low cost. Additionally, the materials from the cleaned transformers can be recycled as valuable metals, preventing the loss of precious resources. Rijen has developed the HED system, which connects transformers to processing equipment, enabling highly efficient oil extraction and replacement of PCB-contaminated insulating oil with non-PCB oil. This ensures reliable oil extraction and replacement. Since the work is conducted in a closed system, there is no risk of workers being exposed to PCBs or of PCB dispersion or leakage. The size of the processing equipment is among the smallest in the industry. It can be used for transformers located in basements of buildings with restricted access routes or in areas where vehicles and heavy machinery cannot easily enter. In recent years, large-scale disasters such as earthquakes and wind-related flooding, as well as large-scale power outages due to accidents and fires, have frequently occurred across the country. Securing power to operate laptops, smartphones, televisions, and other devices to obtain information to prevent secondary disasters has become a challenge. Eitarnus is an air-zinc battery that generates electricity simply by reacting safely with air, unlike fuel generators and storage batteries that require fuel replenishment or charging. It operates even in sub-zero temperatures and does not emit harmful substances like carbon monoxide, nor does it pose risks of ignition or explosion. Its size is about 2/3 of an A4 sheet of paper, and it weighs approximately 2.5 kg, making it compact and portable, yet it has a large power generation capacity capable of operating 100V household appliances such as laptops and televisions. It can be stored for up to about 10 years (recommended period of 5 years) if unopened, making it a suitable battery for emergency preparedness.
