The VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer) is a device that can measure with very high sensitivity, as it does not require consideration of zero-point shifts and can utilize narrow-band amplifiers such as lock-in amplifiers. It measures the strength of direct current magnetization by vibrating a magnetized sample sinusoidally at a constant amplitude and frequency, and determining the induced electromotive force in a nearby coil.
