PODS (POlyhedrin Delivery System) is a co-crystal of polyhedrin protein containing growth factors, expressed in insect cells, with a diameter of approximately 0.2 to 5 μm. Typically, growth factors begin to degrade from the start of culture, leading to rapid fluctuations in concentration. The crystal structure of PODS gradually releases the growth factors while suppressing the degradation of the internal growth factors, thereby optimizing the concentration of growth factors in the culture medium for an extended period.
