"Bending processing," as the name suggests, is a method of bending plastic into a V shape or an R shape. "Precision machining" refers to cutting processes that produce high-precision machined parts or complex shapes. This type of machining is required for parts related to communication equipment, medical devices, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, where adjustments need to be made at the 0.0 mm level. It is said that machining becomes significantly more difficult when the thickness exceeds 0.3 mm, as the blades can become rounded or prone to chipping. In some cases, a precision of one-thousandth of a millimeter must be achieved, and the technicians themselves perform the sharpening of the tools, adjusting the sharpening method according to the material. To finish parts cleanly and efficiently, three factors must be aligned: "rotational speed," "depth of cut," and "feed rate." Common characteristics of polyethylene include being milky white and translucent, lighter than water, and dripping when burned. Its drawbacks include a low softening point and being chemically inert, making it difficult to print or bond directly. Therefore, welding methods are often used instead of adhesives.
