"Calopeptide" refers to a hydrolysate of seal skeletal muscle that contains a mixture of amino acids and peptides. During the hydrolysis process of seal skeletal muscle, odors, colors, and bitterness are removed, allowing for the efficient extraction of a mixture of amino acids and peptides (calopeptide). In 1986, a special method for the decomposition and extraction of calopeptide was devised, and a patent was obtained.
