"ObiRED" is a product made exclusively from the heartwood of Obi cedar, finished with unique processing techniques to retain the natural qualities of its components, exhibiting excellent anti-decay and anti-termite properties. The heartwood contains a high amount of oils (essential oil components), which not only make the wood resistant to decay but also provide strong protection against various pests (such as cockroaches, termites, and mites), enhancing the wood's durability. With wide growth rings, it is light and soft, making it less likely to splinter and cause skin irritation. When finished with a smooth surface treatment, it greatly improves the tactile feel. The surface densification technology "Gywood(R)" compresses the surface layer of solid wood from soft coniferous trees such as cedar, cypress, and pine, increasing its density to enhance hardness and strength as a material. It has successfully improved shape stability compared to conventional solid wood, resulting in a "new solid material." By overcoming the vulnerability to scratches that has been a weakness of coniferous wood, this surface densification technology allows the internal structure to retain the lightness and softness of coniferous wood as much as possible, transforming it into a beautiful material that is strong against scratches, lightweight, and considerate of people.
