Free membership registrationOur company DOHO (the domestic general agent for ZRapid) is collaborating with Inoue Boring, a company specializing in internal combustion machining, to manufacture the cylinder of the classic motorcycle "Mach III" using a metal 3D printer, and we are promoting a project aimed at practical application. The cylinder block is produced using ZRapid's SLM method metal 3D printer, with secondary processing and finishing handled by Inoue Boring. A cylinder has been completed that is comparable to genuine parts in both functionality and durability! Additionally, we have completed running tests at the Tsukuba Circuit, demonstrating the potential for practical parts manufacturing using AM technology. This product will also be showcased at JIMTOF in November 2024, drawing attention as a case study for the application of 3D printing technology to vintage motorcycle parts. The article is titled, "Testing 3D-Printed Cylinders on the Circuit - This Could Be a Revolution for Vintage Motorcycles," and it covers the background of the project, the manufacturing process, and the actual performance tests on the circuit. 3D printing is highly effective for the restoration and repair of vintage motorcycle parts, and we plan to expand its application to various other components in the future.
