This product is a crucial component known as "seal material," used in industrial products called linear guides, which prevents the intrusion of dirt and dust. The sizes of seal materials vary, but the smallest ones are only 3mm wide, making it very difficult to perform extrusion molding due to their low discharge volume. To achieve fine two-layer molded products, our company has introduced a small extruder with a screw diameter of only 15mm. This product uses AES resin, which has excellent weather resistance. AES resin has essentially the same properties as ABS resin, but it excels in outdoor weather resistance and UV protection, and does not suffer from weathering degradation, so coatings are unnecessary. The main concern regarding resin products used outdoors is weathering discoloration caused by ultraviolet rays from the sun. Our company has successfully leveraged our unique material technology, developed over many years, to dramatically improve the weather resistance of our products. Even after 3,000 hours of exposure in accelerated weathering tests (Xenon weather meter), there is almost no discoloration observed in the test specimens. Fence panels are typically manufactured using single-layer extrusion, but we have made it possible to create products with high weather resistance while keeping costs down by thinly coating the substrate with this ultra-weather-resistant resin through a two-layer molding process. Extrusion molding is a method of continuously shaping resin that has been heated and melted, then cooled and solidified with air or water. While injection molding cools the resin inside a mold, extrusion molding passes the heated and melted resin through a mold from the heating cylinder of the extruder, and then gradually cools it to shape. Because of this method, products with a consistent shape are continuously formed. Raw resin is fed into the extruder, heated and melted, extruded from the mold, and the extruded molten resin is cooled, collected, and cut. "PPS" is a crystalline resin with a simple chemical structure composed of a benzene ring and sulfur. This resin has a high melting point of approximately 280°C, excellent chemical resistance, and exhibits flame-retardant properties without the addition of flame retardants, demonstrating self-extinguishing characteristics.
