Our company has been engaged in coating equipment primarily focused on dip coating. Among these, we have received numerous inquiries from companies such as paper manufacturers and manufacturers and sellers of molded containers regarding coatings aimed at providing "water resistance, heat resistance, and oil resistance" for three-dimensional shapes like pulp (paper) molds. We are conducting test coatings on prototype containers (pulp (paper) molds). Based on the results of these test coatings, we have developed a dedicated testing machine called the "Pulp Coater." The Pulp Coater catalog includes the following information regarding coating film performance: - Water and heat resistance: Changes over time after heating in a microwave (up to 72 hours) - Oil repellency KIT value - Oil resistance: Changes over time after applying salad oil, dressing, and soy sauce to the container (up to 24 hours) In light of the movement to reduce plastic use, companies considering a switch to materials with less environmental impact, especially those looking to convert disposable containers to pulp (paper) molds, are encouraged to make use of the Pulp Coater. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries regarding test coatings and other matters.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the coating process and various mechanisms of the mass production dip coater (coating device) that our company has been manufacturing so far. In reality, what kind of mechanisms are involved in an automatic mass production dip coating device? How is the coating applied? What are the important factors to consider when constructing and selecting these mechanisms? This content addresses these questions from a coating perspective. *The aspects of mass production and productivity will be introduced separately. We hope that the overview of the devices we have constructed and manufactured based on the following considerations will serve as a reference for those considering coating. ● Dip Coater (Coating Device) for Obtaining High-Quality Coating Films "What is a high-quality coating film?" We believe it can be summarized in the following two points: - Cleanliness: Minimal film unevenness, drips, defects, accumulations, and deviations. - Sufficient durability: Adequate adhesion between the substrate and the paint. The performance of the coating film depends on the paint, but to bring out the performance of that paint, it is necessary to consider the three processes: pre-coating cleaning/modification process, dip coating process, and drying (curing) process, along with the key points of each mechanism.

Free membership registration●From the overview of dip coating, we explain our precise speed control based on film thickness data regarding the uniform coating results at low-speed ranges (approximately 0.1 mm/sec to 3 mm/sec) and how to address the tendency for thicker films at the lower part of the coating surface due to the weight of the liquid during high-speed ranges (5 mm/sec and above). ●We explain the strength of dip coating, which is the "liquid followability," based on our precise lifting control aimed at achieving uniform coating on various workpiece shapes, using illustrations and film thickness data. In this way, we introduce our coating methods utilizing precise dip coating through speed control and lifting control, addressing coating on various shaped workpieces and research and development in the field of nanomaterials.

Free membership registrationWhen it comes to AR (anti-reflective) coatings, they are widely recognized for being applied through a dry process, but it is also possible to achieve a reflectance of less than 1% (on one side) with a single-layer coating using the wet process dip coating method. By varying the withdrawal speed during dip coating, we have successfully controlled the film thickness in increments of 5 nm, achieving thicknesses ranging from 100 to 160 nm, as demonstrated by our film thickness analysis data. The ability to control film thickness by varying the withdrawal speed allows us to target specific bottom wavelengths, making it possible to achieve the desired film deposition for optical lenses that require bottom wavelength ranges of 550 nm to 650 nm, as well as for sensors (LiDAR) used in autonomous driving that require wavelengths around 1500 nm, depending on the purpose and application. In this catalog, the withdrawal speed varies according to the coating agent, and we have included analysis data for each film thickness.

Free membership registrationIn vertical lifting, it is easy for liquid pooling to occur on complex-shaped workpieces. By tilting the workpiece to an angle that allows the liquid to flow easily during the ascent (X-axis side) and adjusting the inclination (Y-axis side), it is possible to prevent liquid pooling and achieve a more uniform coating film. *For high-viscosity liquids that may cause dripping due to the posture after lifting, utilizing the tilting function to change the workpiece's posture can also help prevent dripping. As an option, by adding an additional axis and incorporating a rotation function to the tilt, it is possible to propose a 3-axis type that allows for more uniform film formation on cylindrical workpieces by flowing the liquid evenly over the surface. Free membership registrationBy equipping the experimental machines, which tend to go dormant after completing experiments, with extended functionalities, we can transform them into facilities capable of producing sample products that can be proposed to customers and small rod production as we move on to the next stage. In reality, products that have been film-coated using painting experimental machines, such as dip coating, often cannot be repurposed into sample products or actual products for customers due to the irregularities in the coating film appearance. By reducing contamination, which is the main cause of these appearance irregularities, within the coating system, it is possible to dramatically decrease the disturbances in the coating film. For more details, please refer to the related product pages below.

Free membership registrationThis is a device that can automatically and continuously process up to 70 injection-molded plastic lenses per batch, from ultrasonic cleaning in multiple tanks to dip coating and UV curing. With a primary focus on vibration reduction, which is a very important factor in dip coating (considering mass effects, the arrangement of the drive source, and edge cutting), we have designed our system based on this philosophy. We understand the role of ultrasonic cleaning in the preceding process (its contribution to yield) and the issues that can arise in the subsequent processes of drying and curing (such as film irregularities), and we have been dedicated to creating equipment that satisfies our customers by recognizing the importance of each step in the coating process. For more details, please refer to the related product page below.

Free membership registrationThis is a device capable of automatically and continuously processing multiple injection-molded plastic products sized 1,000×400 mm per batch, from ultrasonic cleaning in multiple tanks to dip coating and UV curing. Based on our years of experience, we prioritize vibration reduction, which is a very important factor in dip coating (mass effect, placement of the drive source, and edge cutting) as our design philosophy. We have worked hard to create equipment that satisfies our customers by understanding the role of ultrasonic cleaning in the previous process (contribution to yield) and the issues that arise in the subsequent drying and curing process (film irregularities), as well as the importance of each step in the coating process. The system is equipped to continuously monitor the paint, maintaining the liquid temperature according to requirements, while also automatically adjusting the liquid concentration by replenishing both the concentrated and diluted solutions, allowing for controlled coating within a certain range of concentration and temperature. This is a mass production type hard coating device designed for large substrates that reflects this experience and know-how.
