As of September 1, 2006, measures related to the prevention of asbestos dispersion and health hazard prevention have been strengthened, prohibiting the import, manufacture, and use of asbestos. The requirement for "administrative reporting of the results of preliminary surveys on the presence of asbestos during construction of a certain scale or larger" will be applied starting from construction projects that commence on April 1, 2022. Additionally, the requirement for "conducting preliminary surveys by individuals with necessary knowledge" will be applied starting October 1, 2023.
