Free membership registrationThermosetting resins are highly durable, heat-resistant, and chemical-resistant, making them widely used in household appliance parts, industrial parts, machine parts, tableware, outlets, and more. However, the biggest disadvantage of thermosetting resins is that, in contrast to thermoplastic resins, once they are molded by heat, they do not melt again when heated, making it difficult to remold them and unsuitable for recycling or reuse. However, U.S. Technology Co., Ltd. in the Far East recycles (upcycles) three types of thermosetting resins: urea resin, melamine resin, and unsaturated polyester resin, to manufacture and sell "resin-based abrasives" used for various applications such as paint stripping for aircraft, burr removal for electronic components, mold cleaning, and decoration. *For more details on the column, please refer to the related links. Free membership registrationPlastics can be broadly classified into two types based on their properties: thermoplastic resins and thermosetting resins. Thermoplastic resins liquefy upon heating without undergoing a chemical reaction and solidify upon cooling, forming linear chain polymers. In other words, thermoplastic resins become liquid at their glass transition temperature or melting point, and solidify again when below that temperature, allowing them to transition between liquid and solid states. A common analogy is that of cookies and chocolate: thermosetting resins are like cookies; once baked, they cannot be melted again in the oven, and while they may burn at high temperatures, they do not liquefy. On the other hand, thermoplastic resins, like chocolate, melt and change shape when heated to a certain temperature. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Free membership registrationBy using our Polyplus (urea resin), we can efficiently clean dirt and residues that cannot be removed by brushes stuck in grooves and recesses, without damaging the surface. If the workpiece is cast, it is possible to clean using either Polyplus (urea resin abrasive) or Type Three (melamine resin abrasive). We recommend selecting the abrasive based on the quality and surface condition you desire. Due to our unique production method, there is minimal variation between lots, allowing us to process any surface with the same quality. In particular, our long-time customers highly appreciate the "quality of the product that is evident upon use." We can provide samples, so please feel free to contact us if you have any interest.

Free membership registrationFor hard metals like cast iron, using Type 3 (melamine resin) with high cutting power allows for efficient cleaning. Using glass beads gradually cuts into the surface of the mold, causing edges and fine details to disappear with each cleaning, but Type 3 (melamine resin) can clean hard metals with minimal damage since it is a resin. Additionally, there is almost no damage to the blast machine body, nozzles, hoses, and other tools, which helps reduce maintenance costs. By switching from harmful and toxic organic solvents to abrasives for cleaning, it also contributes to improved safety for workers and better workplace conditions.

Free membership registrationFor hard metals like cast iron, using Type 3 (melamine resin) with high cutting power allows for efficient cleaning. Using glass beads gradually cuts into the mold surface, causing edges and fine details to disappear with each cleaning, but Type 3 (melamine resin), being a resin, can clean hard metals with minimal damage. This method is particularly effective for cleaning residual vulcanized material on mold surfaces during rubber vulcanization molding. Additionally, there is almost no damage to the blast machine body, nozzles, hoses, and other fixtures, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. Free membership registrationThe surface condition of aluminum cans after processing varies depending on the type of resin used. 1. When using our product "Polyextra," it is possible to leave a glossy finish while only stripping the surface coating. This is a polishing material made of unsaturated polyester resin. 2. When using our product "Polyplus," the surface is lightly cut, resulting in a matte finish. It is possible to retain designs such as grooves and indentations. This is a polishing material made of urea resin (urea-formaldehyde resin). 3. When using our product "Type Three," the surface becomes matte. It allows for efficient and quick cleaning. This is a polishing material made of melamine resin. All photos show processing with polishing materials of size "#60-80 (325-180μm)," and the blasting conditions are standardized. In the case of thin aluminum, such as aluminum cans, alumina or glass beads can quickly create holes, but our resin-based polishing materials do not easily create holes. However, due to the way the blasting is applied, the aluminum may expand (stretch), so it is necessary to understand the physical properties of the blasting target and set the blasting conditions accordingly.

Free membership registrationThe α series is a new abrasive developed specifically for wet blasting (liquid honing), where glass beads are blended in a well-balanced manner with unsaturated polyester resin. It combines the two properties of glass beads and unsaturated polyester resin, excelling in fine processing while minimizing damage to the workpiece while maintaining cutting power. It is suitable as an alternative to other thermosetting resin abrasives and plant-based abrasives. In particular, plant-based abrasives (such as walnut, apricot, peach, etc.) can have variability in hardness and durability, requiring adjustments to blasting conditions depending on the batch. However, our resin-based abrasives maintain consistent quality, have low friability, and are durable, allowing for repeated use according to each application. All α series products are blended in-house, and we pay close attention to managing the particle size distribution after blending. Only abrasives that meet our strict standards are sold to our customers. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe US series is an abrasive developed for POLYEXTRA's wet blast (liquid honing) using unsaturated polyester resin. Due to its specific gravity of 1.15 to 1.25, which is close to the weight of water, fine particle abrasives tend to float on the water's surface. However, thanks to our manufacturing technology, the abrasives in the US series minimize floating on the water's surface and can maximize their performance as abrasives. Additionally, the US series is softer than TYPE III and POLYPLUS, but harder than nylon. It is suitable as an alternative to abrasives of similar hardness or plant-based abrasives, which can have variability in hardness and durability, requiring adjustments to blasting conditions depending on the batch. In contrast, our resin-based abrasives maintain consistent quality, have low friability, and are durable, allowing for repeated use according to specific applications. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
