Free membership registrationThe molding of glass originally requires extremely high temperatures and toxic chemicals. Additionally, there is not much flexibility in design. To address this issue, ENGEL has decided to collaborate with Glassomer GmbH (headquartered in Freiburg, Germany) for joint development. We are developing a method that excels in energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, and can produce many shapes in a short time that were previously unimaginable with traditional glass processing. In undertaking this groundbreaking joint development, we have provided the fully automatic injection molding machine e-motion 50 TL and the cleanroom-designed integrated linear robot viper to meet the stringent regulatory requirements of the microengineering field. One reason we are working to use not only plastics but also glass as a material is that the light sources produced in the optical field are becoming very small. This means that the energy density is increasing, necessitating the use of chemically and thermally stable glass to manufacture fine lens structures. If you are even slightly interested, please feel free to contact us!
