At VC Cell Therapy Co., Ltd., we are engaged in the development and practical application of advanced treatments, focusing on outer retinal layer diseases, and are developing technologies and therapies to induce and proliferate retinal cells and RPE cells for medical use using iPS cells. We are also actively introducing automation in quality control, having implemented Sysmex's fully automated immunoassay system aimed at automating cytokine measurement. We spoke with the CTO and members of the research and development department about the realization of automation and mechanization in a venture company dealing with regenerative medicine technology. Excerpt from the interview article: "In the ELISA test, if the concentration of the sample is unknown, multiple samples with different dilution factors must be prepared, but with HISCL, this is not necessary; we can obtain data simply by placing the supernatant directly into the device, which was shocking. Witnessing HISCL produce results in about 20 minutes that would take a whole day with ELISA was truly astonishing." *The full text can be accessed by downloading the user interview article via the "Download Catalog" button. Free membership registrationIn Japan, where transplant treatments are not progressing, the realization of regenerative medicine using human ES cells and iPS cells is eagerly awaited. To achieve this, the key is to efficiently and cost-effectively remove undifferentiated cells that pose a risk of tumor formation and to recover a large quantity of purified cells. Professor Shugo Toyama and his team at Fujita Medical University Tokyo Advanced Medical Research Center successfully transplanted cardiac tissue balls created from human iPS cells into cynomolgus monkeys that had suffered myocardial infarction, leading to heart regeneration. We asked Professor Toyama about the motivation behind his research and the results achieved. Excerpt from the interview article: "Protein analysis is usually evaluated using ELISA, which takes a considerable amount of time, so we only measured it for important samples. However, with this fully automated immunoassay device, we can now obtain data very conveniently and quickly, which has greatly benefited our research along with the quality assessment of miRNA." *The full text can be accessed by downloading the user interview article via the "Download Catalog" button. Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce our "Research Use HISCL PEDF Reagent." After setting the sample in the dedicated device, the measurement is completed in 17 minutes. This method uses a two-step sandwich chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay. Additionally, we also offer the "Research Use HISCL VEDF Reagent," which is intended for the measurement of human VEGF in cell culture supernatants. 【Measurement Range】 ■VEGF: 15-70,000 pg/mL ■PEDF: 0.5-4,200 ng/mL *For more details, please download the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationRegenerative medicine is expected to become a treatment for diseases with high unmet medical needs. Among these, direct reprogramming technology can induce target cells from somatic cells without the use of pluripotent stem cells, potentially reducing both time and economic costs compared to conventional techniques. We spoke with Associate Professor Hideki Endo from Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine, who is advancing research aimed at establishing regenerative treatment for type 1 diabetes patients through direct reprogramming, about this technology and the fully automated immunoassay system that has been key to its progress. Excerpt from the interview article: "If many researchers recognize that it can be used instead of conventional ELISA, and that it is simple and speedy, it could be utilized not only in regenerative medicine but also in other fields, leading to overall advancements in research." *The full text can be downloaded and viewed by clicking the "Download Catalog" button for the user interview article.
