The printed material passes between the plate cylinder and the impression cylinder, where the ink that has entered the recessed areas under pressure from the impression cylinder is transferred to the printed material. The depth of the recesses affects the amount of ink, allowing for the expression of color depth in the printed material. There are various printing methods, among which the representative ones are "intaglio," "relief," and "planographic."
