This time, Excel Corporation has sponsored the Rescue Robot Contest 2026. What is the Rescue Robot Contest? Purpose The "Rescue Robot Contest" (abbreviated as "Rescon") is a robot contest themed around disaster rescue, combining elements of "education," "science and technology," and "sociality," with the core concept of "kindness." It aims to promote disaster prevention and reduction awareness and to foster human resources. The organizing committee of the Rescue Robot Contest holds the event under the philosophy of "learning technology and engaging with people to create a disaster-resilient society" through the planning and operation of the contest. Competition Overview Participating teams will pilot multiple self-made robots, relying on images from an onboard camera, to rescue a dummy (representing a person in need of rescue) from within a scaled-down model of a disaster-affected building, separated by a wall. They will compete based on speed, kindness, creativity, and other factors.
