Daifuku Co., Ltd. has established a local subsidiary, Daifuku Intralogistics Vietnam Co., Ltd., which will sell, install, and provide after-sales service for logistics systems aimed at the manufacturing and distribution industries, starting operations on October 1, 2019. Since 2016, our company has been selling logistics systems centered around automated warehouses to local manufacturers and Japanese companies in Vietnam. In recent years, Vietnam has become a significant manufacturing hub, attracting companies from various countries, not just Japanese firms, due to its abundant young workforce and as a relocation destination for production amid the recent U.S.-China trade friction. On the other hand, wages have been rising due to aggressive foreign investment, increasing the momentum for automation. In our medium-term management plan "Value Innovation 2020," which concludes in the fiscal year ending March 2021, we are promoting the autonomy of local management to accelerate area-focused business development as part of our global strategy. With the establishment of the new company, we aim to actively advance our business in Vietnam, expanding not only storage systems for the manufacturing industry but also conveying, sorting, and picking systems for the distribution industry, among other areas.
