Noise Cut Transformer NCT-R3-J6

The latest three-phase model that improves noise reduction performance and considers safety and ease of use.

The "Noise Cut Transformer" improves noise attenuation performance, safety, and ease of use. It is a disturbance wave-blocking transformer. Focusing on the fact that various noise disturbances are caused in many environments by high-frequency noise below 150 kHz, which is not covered by major EMC standards such as the IEC 61000-4 series, we have generally enhanced the noise attenuation performance, particularly in the range of several tens to several hundred kHz. Additionally, not only the conductive parts such as terminals and coils but also the core part is enclosed in a case to prevent contact, making it safer to use.

[Case Study] POS System Development Company A

Is it prohibited to use while charging? We will introduce cases where the cause was identified and the trouble was resolved!

Company A, a manufacturer of POS system development, has been focusing on the spread of tablet-type POS systems and has delivered them to many stores. However, recently, complaints have been received from newly supplied stores stating that "malfunctions occur and operations become impossible." Company A conducted investigations daily to resolve this issue, but identifying the cause proved difficult, leading to a prolonged period of uncertainty. Therefore, our company estimated that the conductive noise transmitted through the power line was entering the tablet via the charger, causing the trouble. We proposed a "Noise Cut Transformer" that could eliminate the noise from the power supply. After installation, the troubles completely disappeared, and normal operations were restored. [Case Summary] ■ Problem: Unable to operate while charging ■ Product Introduced: Noise Blocking Transformer "Noise Cut Transformer" ■ Effect: Troubles completely resolved *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Pharmaceutical Manufacturer C Research Institute

Unexplained stoppage of the centrifuge, what is its true nature? Here we present a case that achieved stable operation of research equipment!

At the C Research Institute, research and development of new drugs is underway, and many facilities are operational; however, there were issues occurring. It was speculated that the cause might be the deterioration of the power supply environment due to voltage fluctuations, but this remained merely a hypothesis, and we were troubled. Since there are various factors that can deteriorate the power supply environment, we first proposed the introduction of high-frequency noise countermeasure products that could be implemented at a low cost and provided a trial unit. When we attached a "Noise Cut Transformer" to the centrifuge to see if the situation would change, the issues that had occurred daily ceased entirely from the first day of implementation. Subsequently, we introduced the solution to the devices that had experienced issues, and those devices also stopped having problems, achieving stable operation of the research equipment. 【Case Summary】 ■ Problem: Unable to identify the cause of the issues ■ Proposal: High-frequency noise countermeasure products that can be implemented at a low cost ■ Introduced Product: Noise Cut Transformer ■ Result: Troubles resolved through high-frequency noise countermeasures ■ Conclusion: It is important to implement measures suitable for the factors causing disturbances that deteriorate the power supply environment. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Automatic Welding Machine Manufacturer D Company

Why isn't it resolved even though we are using countermeasure products? Here are examples of noise countermeasures for automatic welding machines!

Company D, headquartered in Tokyo, had been implementing noise countermeasures for high-frequency noise generated within their steelworks by installing noise filters on the power lines of their equipment and attaching ferrite cores to the power cables. However, the issues were resolved only in one or two locations, while many other areas remained problematic. In environments where various frequencies of noise coexist, it is believed that countermeasure products targeting only specific frequencies may not yield sufficient results. Therefore, we proposed the introduction of the "Noise Cut Transformer," which can reliably eliminate a wide range of frequencies. As a result, the issues were successfully resolved, and the automatic welding machine began to operate without problems. [Case Overview] ■ Problem: Despite using countermeasure products for noise control, issues remain unresolved. ■ Product Introduced: Noise Cut Transformer ■ Effect: Issues were successfully resolved, and the automatic welding machine operates without problems. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

The basic concept of noise countermeasures using a "noise cut transformer."

We will introduce the basic features of the noise barrier transformer and key points for noise countermeasures!

The disturbances caused by high-frequency noise propagating through the power line can sometimes lead to serious consequences. For example, in production equipment that generates high-value-added products like semiconductors, a single abnormal stop can result in losses amounting to tens of millions of yen. Additionally, malfunctions in equipment handling large forces or energies, such as in railways, aviation, automobiles, and robots, can lead not only to financial losses but also to personal accidents. Noise countermeasures for power lines are essential to prevent such situations from occurring. In this blog, we will introduce the noise-cutting transformer "Noise Cut Transformer," developed to prevent such noise disturbances, along with its usage and points to consider. Please take a look. *For more details, you can view the related links. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Rediscovering the Charm of Noise Cut Transformers! Vol. 4 Leakage Current Countermeasures (2)

One device can handle four loops! It can also prevent leakage currents from harmonics and high frequencies!

This booklet covers measures against leakage current and the effects on high-frequency leakage current. The "Noise Cut Transformer" can significantly suppress the passage of leakage current from DC to GHz range due to its common mode wideband high attenuation characteristics. As a result, it can prevent not only the fundamental wave components (50Hz/60Hz) but also harmonics and high-frequency leakage current. [Contents] ■ Measures against leakage current using the Noise Cut Transformer ■ The Noise Cut Transformer can handle four loops with one unit ■ Effects of the Noise Cut Transformer on high-frequency leakage current *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Discovering the Charm of Noise-Cutting Transformers Again! Vol. 2

When used indoors where impulse coordination is maintained, it can withstand induced lightning!

This booklet introduces impulse voltage as defined by the overvoltage category/JIS. The standard impulse withstand voltage for the "Noise Cut Transformer" is 5kV (5000V). Up to an impulse voltage of 5kV (standard shock voltage of 1.2/50μs as specified in JEC-0202), it can protect equipment from induced lightning without insulation breakdown. If you have concerns about impulse coordination or are using it in outdoor panels, please consider the NCT-K type or I4 type with an impulse withstand voltage of 10kV, or the NCT-K type and P type with an impulse withstand voltage of 30kV. Booklet: Rediscovering the Charm of Noise-Cutting Transformers! Vol. 1

Extremely wideband among noise suppression elements! Lightning surge voltage can also be significantly attenuated!

This booklet introduces the wideband attenuation characteristics of the "Noise Cut Transformer," which can attenuate not only noise but also "lightning surges." The attenuation range for line noise that can be prevented covers normal mode (between lines) from 10 kHz to 1 GHz, and common mode from DC to 1 GHz. In comparison, the attenuation range of typical LC filters for power supplies is from 100 kHz to 30 MHz, making the bandwidth of attenuation extremely wide among noise prevention devices. [Noise Countermeasure Case] Centrifuge Stops for Unknown Reasons! What is the Cause!

The operation of multiple analysis devices is unstable and not functioning properly! Introduction of noise countermeasure examples.

At the C Research Institute, research and development of new drugs is underway, and many facilities are in operation. In these facilities, issues such as "we want to use the centrifuge continuously for 8 hours, but the equipment stops at night" have occurred. We requested each equipment manufacturer to investigate the cause of the malfunctions and prevent their recurrence. However, since the manufacturers could not identify the cause of the malfunctions, they were only able to provide temporary repairs. Additionally, repairs for equipment under warranty are all free of charge, but once the warranty period is exceeded, repairs become chargeable, and those costs cannot be ignored. The facility manager began an investigation to improve this situation. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Noise Countermeasure Example] The analog signal from the weighing controller is unstable.

In a servo-type weighing system, the analog signal from the weighing controller fluctuates.

At Company B's factory, which manufactures plastic products, there is an automatic weighing machine for resin raw material pellets that are transported by a conveyor belt. This system controls the gate opening detected by a device that outputs an analog signal from a potentiometer, inputs it into a PLC, and sends a signal to the servo driver for control. While operating this system, a problem occurred where the gate opened and closed in small increments, making accurate weighing impossible. If this continues, it will have a significant impact on product production... This case was related to "high-frequency noise propagating through the air." *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study] When the overseas compressor operates, a leakage current alarm is triggered.

I want you to clarify the cause of the alarm sounding! Here is an introduction to noise countermeasure examples!

Since it has already been confirmed by the customer that there are no abnormalities in the equipment's insulation, we considered another possibility. Generally, high-frequency noise is generated from the compressor. Typically, some noise reduction product is installed on the compressor to prevent the high-frequency noise generated from affecting surrounding equipment. Under normal circumstances, that noise reduction product should be able to sufficiently prevent the outflow of high-frequency noise. However, when several adverse conditions overlap, that noise reduction product can sometimes become a cause of high-frequency noise dispersion. Upon confirming with the customer, it was noted that a noise reduction product is also installed on the equipment's compressor, so we focused our investigation on the surrounding area. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Noise Countermeasure Case] System Abnormal Shutdown in Plasma Arc Welding

The pilot arc affects the PLC! The cause of the system's abnormal shutdown might be noise?

Company C, a parts processing manufacturer, automated the plasma arc welding process to reduce labor. The system configuration involves moving the workpiece using a servo motor and performing the welding operation when it reaches the designated position. In the automation process, position detection sensors and proximity sensors were installed, and safety measures were implemented simultaneously. Since there are multiple parts to be welded, the control system was pre-programmed, allowing for changes in control patterns for each target during operation. However, the system experienced irregular freezes and abnormal stops due to issues where the pre-set programs were overwritten. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Countermeasure Example] When the painting robot operates, the leakage breaker trips.

Leakage current detected! No wiring faults or insulation issues found; where could the cause be?

Company A, which develops and manufactures painting robots, has a customer who has decided to initially adopt one set of the new robot on a trial basis. If all goes well, there is a significant possibility of introducing five sets in the future. The equipment was delivered, and the adjustment work was progressing smoothly. It seemed that we would soon be able to hand it over to the customer. However, suddenly the customer reported, "The existing painting robot's ground fault circuit interrupter is tripping irregularly. It seems that a ground fault occurs when the new robot starts or stops. We cannot proceed with the acceptance inspection under these circumstances!" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Noise Cut Transformer NCT-J

Decisive effect against noise leakage from inverters! It can also be widely used for other three-phase applications.

This is a "Noise Cut Transformer" developed to prevent malfunctions and communication disturbances caused by noise associated with the rapidly increasing use of "general-purpose inverters." Of course, it can also be used for other applications. The noise generated by conventional inverters has been difficult to sufficiently mitigate using LC filters and similar methods. This is due to the presence of a significant amount of noise in the frequency range below 100 kHz, where the effectiveness of the filter diminishes, as well as issues such as leakage current when using filters and the influence of grounding conditions and the impedance of power and load devices. The NCT-J is a trump card that can solve these problems all at once.
