Free membership registrationHave you ever felt that 'the analysis does not match the actual machine' or 'what is necessary for improving accuracy'? In press forming analysis, material properties greatly influence analysis accuracy. We will hold an online seminar focusing on the fundamental aspect of simulation, which is material properties, for those currently using or considering the introduction of press forming analysis. In the first half of this seminar, Professor Susumu Takahashi from Nihon University will give a lecture on the current state of press processing, including tensile tests at press forming speeds and forming analysis. In the latter part of the seminar, we will also introduce the material property calculation tool ESI Mat-Wizard for PAM-STAMP. ■ Event Overview - Date and Time: August 26, 2022 (Friday) 14:00 - 15:00 (60 minutes including Q&A) - Cost: Free (Pre-registration required) - Target Audience: Those using press forming analysis software, not limited to PAM-STAMP, or those considering its introduction - Capacity: 100 people ■ Agenda 1. Opening remarks and introduction of the seminar overview 2. Challenges of applying high-tensile materials to automotive parts and press forming analysis / Professor Takahashi from Nihon University 3. Q&A 4. Improving prediction accuracy with ESI Mat-Wizard 5. Q&A

Free membership registrationOpenFOAM is said to be one of the most widely used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools in the world as an open-source numerical fluid analysis software. Being open-source offers significant advantages, such as eliminating costs for additional licenses when the number of users increases and enabling calculations for large-scale models that require many cores. However, it is also true that, due to its open-source nature, there are hurdles to adoption, such as concerns about whether it can be applied to specific challenges and the quality of the software. Currently, OpenCFD, the developer of OpenFOAM, is under the umbrella of ESI Group, and a community focused on development and maintenance has been established, leading to the continuous evolution of OpenFOAM. Additionally, ESI Group offers comprehensive CAE services based on OpenFOAM, which differ from typical commercial CFD software. In this seminar, we will introduce the current state of the community, the services provided by ESI Group, and examples from the shipbuilding and marine industries. The content will also be of interest to those in industries outside of shipbuilding and marine, so we encourage you to take this opportunity to watch.

Free membership registrationCasting simulation has been on the market for a long time and has gained high trust in defect prediction such as flow and solidification. However, thermal stress remains a very important issue in manufacturing process considerations, yet it is still rare to find simulation tools that actively address this. Cases of dimensional non-conformance due to deformation often cannot be resolved through simple design considerations, and in the worst-case scenario, this can lead to significant rework, such as remaking molds, which is a challenging issue for designers. Furthermore, the recent trend towards lightweight products due to CO2 emission regulations has resulted in thinner and less rigid components, making stress-induced deformation even more difficult to control than before. The ProCAST that will be introduced in this seminar is a total solution for solving casting problems, and it has received very high evaluations, especially in stress analysis. During the seminar, we will present essential information and case studies necessary for tackling casting thermal stress simulation, including fundamental equations and material information. In particular, the case studies will provide valuable insights into handling the results obtained from simulations and measures against thermal stress deformation, serving as a reference for the practical application of casting thermal stress simulation. We encourage you to watch it.

Free membership registrationJapan ESI will showcase welding simulation at the 2022 International Welding Show, held from July 13 (Wednesday) to 16 (Saturday), 2022. ESI's welding simulation provides solutions tailored to challenges in welding by categorizing them into deformation and quality issues. For the "welding deformation" problem, Visual Assembly allows for easy analysis even with large-scale models. It enables the analysis of changes in the sequence of spot welding and clamp positions, facilitating the consideration of welding plans with minimal deformation before the prototype stage. For the "welding quality" problem, SYSWELD accurately solves the behavior of metal materials due to heat. It can faithfully reproduce phenomena occurring during the welding process, such as the movement of the welding heat source, expansion and contraction due to temperature history during heating and cooling, and phase transformations. Furthermore, it is possible to consistently carry over the analysis results from the manufacturing process of press forming to welding, and even simulate product fatigue durability performance. On July 14 (Thursday), we will hold a lecture titled "Reducing Prototype Costs through Welding Assembly Simulation." We sincerely look forward to your participation.

Free membership registrationFrom May 25 (Wednesday) to 27 (Friday), we will showcase ESI's analysis solutions at the Automotive Technology Exhibition in Yokohama. Additionally, we will broadly introduce analysis solutions that support the efficiency of automotive development, ranging from manufacturing processes specialized in design and manufacturing, such as VR systems, casting, pressing, welding/assembly, and composite material molding, to fluid structure and vibration/acoustic product design processes, at this concurrently held online exhibition. In the online workshop, we will give a presentation titled "Achieving Zero Prototype Development Using Industrial VR." ■ Presentation Information Presentation Title: Achieving "Zero Prototype Development" Using Industrial VR Overview: Recently, as part of the digital transformation (DX) of the product development process, the introduction of industrial VR, which is the next step after 3D-CAD, is accelerating. This DX aims for zero prototypes by experiencing and verifying products and manufacturing processes at a 1:1 scale, which is closer to the actual item. Furthermore, as the new normal continues to permeate, technical meetings are increasingly being held remotely, allowing for simultaneous immersion in the same VR space from multiple locations, thus enabling more "intimate" communication. In this presentation, we will introduce the forefront of DX utilizing industrial VR provided by ESI.
