Our research team, in collaboration with Keio University, Ito En, Inc., SI Resin Industry Co., Ltd., and the Keio University Advanced Molecular Research Center, has successfully obtained a degradation bacterium for polypropylene (PP) that incorporates the biodegradable additive "P-Life." This research achievement represents an important step towards the microbial degradation treatment of non-degradable polyolefin-based plastics. Furthermore, the degradation bacteria attracted by the addition of P-Life are expected to effectively decompose and remove microplastics generated from polyolefin-based plastics, helping to alleviate their accumulation in the global environment. 【Features】 - Multiple degradation bacteria discovered that are compatible with P-Life added plastics - Capable of degrading a wide range of materials, including polypropylene and polyethylene - Safety of the products generated after plastic degradation being metabolized by microorganisms - Effectiveness of P-Life in promoting microbial degradation has been demonstrated *For more details, please refer to the materials. Feel free to contact us with any inquiries.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case where our biodegradable plastic additive 'P-Life' has been adopted for designated bags specifically for kitchen waste. The bags containing kitchen waste are processed at a composting center. The garbage bags decompose due to our product, and the kitchen waste turns into compost, which is then sold to nearby farmers. Additionally, the components of our product are registered in the national positive list based on the revised Food Sanitation Act (updated April 2022). [Case Overview] ■ Location: Organic Recycling Center in Mogi Town, Tochigi Prefecture ■ Application: Designated bags for kitchen waste *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the shelf life of our microbial degradation plastic additive, "P-Life." Knowing the product's lifespan is a very important matter when dealing with microbial degradation plastics in general. The shelf life of the product is defined as the period until the degradation begins. 【Method for Measuring Shelf Life】 1. Conduct a heat acceleration test at 80°C in a gear oven for each product sample. 2. Confirm the point at which degradation begins from the changes in the sample's properties. 3. Convert that time into the duration for storage at room temperature to predict the shelf life. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the decomposition mechanism of our microbial biodegradable plastic additive, "P-Life." It has a mechanism that repeatedly undergoes oxidation and reduction reactions, allowing for the continuous induction and promotion of oxidative decomposition by incorporating radicals into the carbon chains of the polymer. The formed oxides (for example, carboxylic acids) are digested and absorbed by microorganisms in soil or compost environments. Ultimately, they are transformed into CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H2O (water) through metabolic activities such as respiration. 【Features】 ■ Possesses a mechanism that repeatedly undergoes oxidation and reduction reactions ■ Capable of continuously inducing and promoting oxidative decomposition ■ The polymer is depolymerized and forms oxides (functional groups) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce examples of cases where agricultural mulch film has been adopted. After being spread using a mulcher, it gradually begins to break down when exposed to sunlight, and after harvesting, it can be easily incorporated into the soil. The decomposition rate is set to ensure it breaks down within the appropriate period. After incorporation, it is decomposed by microorganisms in the soil into water and carbon dioxide, eliminating the need for removal and reducing labor. 【Case Overview】 ■Location: Pumpkin field in Chitose City, Hokkaido ■Usage: Agricultural mulch film *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
