Currently, we are creating a wooden model that three-dimensionally reproduces the topography of Hokkaido. The photo shows the processing in progress. We are gradually carving the wood with an NC router to accurately reproduce the terrain, including mountains and valleys. The beauty of the undulations and the connections of the terrain, which are difficult to understand in a flat map, become clear when represented in three dimensions. There is also a warmth unique to wood, and it seems that the model will be finished in harmony with nature.
