Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of a customer who adopted "JTAG boundary scan testing" in the production line of their in-house developed products. For devices compatible with JTAG that are packaged in BGA format, the basic wiring checks are confirmed through JTAG testing before being handed over to the firmware team for boards that consist of DSP (CPU) + RAM + ROM. This approach eliminates wasted development time due to defects in board or component implementation, thereby improving development efficiency. [Case Study] ■ TEAC Corporation, Audio Equipment Division - Development and sales of audio equipment ■ JTAG testing is conducted from the prototype stage to enhance development efficiency. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of a customer who identified defective areas on a BGA implementation board using "JTAG boundary scan testing." By utilizing this product, it became possible to pinpoint the locations of BGA implementation defects at the pin level. A cross-sectional analysis conducted with a microscope on the pins where defects occurred revealed that the cause of the implementation defects was due to the soldering areas being exposed to high temperatures for an extended period. Additionally, by reviewing the temperature management of the solder reflow process, we were able to improve the implementation quality of the board. [Case Study] ■ Oki Electric Communication Systems Co., Ltd. - Mechatronics and electronics design and production contract services ■ Quality assurance of BGA implementation using JTAG testing *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe ECU and other controllers that are essential for electric propulsion powertrain systems are extremely important for safe and efficient vehicle operation. Comprehensive sensor and power switching emulation, along with HIL simulation, allows design engineers to obtain the necessary data. With the right data, engineers can simulate actual environmental conditions to optimize control algorithms and conduct non-destructive excursion tests against hazardous external fault conditions (such as motor winding melting) to evaluate the unit's response. It is crucial to find testing solutions that support higher voltages with the flexibility to accommodate both low and high current units requiring power switching in current EVs. By leveraging expertise in electric propulsion systems and thermal management, Pickering's PXI and LXI modules can strategically align appropriate methods with the evolution of powertrain systems.

Free membership registrationWhen conducting tests, we sometimes manually switch the settings for test requirements. However, manual switching is accompanied by issues such as human error, reproducibility, and time constraints. Additionally, using a matrix switch allows for the measurement of multiple measurement points with a single measuring device. Please consider automating with our extensive range of switch modules! By checking the downloadable PXI switch module map, you can easily view the list of products.

Free membership registrationThe PXI millivolt thermocouple simulator module from Pickering Interfaces is ideal for simulating thermocouples that can accurately output voltages for 32, 24, 16, or 8 channels. It can also be used for sensor emulation in ECU testing. The channels can operate in one of three voltage ranges (±20mV with a resolution of 0.7μV, ±50mV with a resolution of 1.7μV, or ±100mV with a resolution of 3.3μV) to cover various types of thermocouples. Even in the presence of common mode noise in the system, it uses a two-wire output for the reference sensor of the remote output to provide accurate voltage. Additionally, each simulation channel can be set to an open circuit to simulate sensor wiring failures. To enhance accuracy, each channel of the low voltage source records precise calibration data in the module. It also includes a calibration multiplexer for testing and verification purposes. We also offer dedicated cables for connecting the thermocouple simulator to the test system.
