NICT, Murata Machinery, ATR, TTDC, and Silex Technology have established a technology research association to jointly conduct research and development of industrial wireless technology. ~Aiming for stable supply of wireless modules for industrial systems~ The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, Chairman: Hidetaka Tokuda), Murata Machinery Co., Ltd. (Murata Machinery, President: Daisuke Murata), Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR, President: Tohru Asami), Toyota Technical Development Corporation (TTDC, President and Executive Officer: Yoshiyuki Kagawa), and Silex Technology Inc. (Silex, President: Nobuhiko Miura) have applied for the establishment of the "Industrial Wireless Technology Research Association" based on the Technology Research Association Law to further accelerate the establishment, social implementation, and standardization of wireless communication technology required for industrial systems. The application was approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications on February 17. We will accelerate activities aimed at establishing industrial wireless communication technology in the Beyond 5G (6G) era through collaboration between research institutions and companies promoting social implementation.
