Refrigerant R407C has similar pressure, capacity, and efficiency to R22, making it a refrigerant with very low risk for maintaining the performance of currently used air conditioning units. HCFCs (R22), which are ozone-depleting substances, were reduced by 60% from the annual production quota for 2010-2014 starting January 1, 2015, and were reduced to zero production starting January 1, 2020.
