The "In-Ship Oil Mist Monitor" is a device designed to detect oil mist generated by onboard equipment, which is said to be a major cause of onboard fires, at an early stage and to trigger an alarm, thereby preventing onboard fires before they occur. This device consists of a high-sensitivity, fast-response oil mist sensor and a digital oil mist monitor unit that has functions such as measuring mist concentration, alarm setting values, and alarm display. By monitoring the number of detected conductive particles, it becomes possible to automatically grasp the condition of the equipment.
