This is an announcement regarding the "Water Resistance Testing of Automotive Parts." We have recently introduced a water resistance testing device that complies with JIS D 0203 (R1, R2, S1, S2). Testing can be conducted on products weighing up to 45 kg. This is an announcement regarding the "Suspended Dust Testing for Automotive Parts." We have recently introduced a suspended dust testing device that complies with JIS D 0207 (F1, F2, F3). The dust is stirred for a certain period to achieve a nearly uniform distribution within the test chamber using air pressure, followed by a specified rest period, and this is repeated as one cycle. Unless there are special requests, the dust used for testing will be one of the eight types specified in JIS Z 8901. The EN60601-1 Third Edition became mandatory on June 1, 2012. The JIST0601-1 Third Edition was published on June 1, 2012! Safety evaluations and testing can be conducted according to IEC60601-1:2005 Third Edition and JIST0601-1:2012 (based on IEC60601-1 Third Edition). NEMKO, as a National Certification Body (NCB) under the IECEE-CB scheme (an international mutual recognition scheme for test results), is also capable of compliance with IEC60601-1 Third Edition as a CB testing laboratory (CBTL). While the requirements for medical devices in various countries generally refer to IEC60601-1 Second Edition A1/A2, the transition to IEC60601-1 Third Edition is also progressing.

The IPX9K rating according to the German national standard DIN 40 050 represents the highest level of protection against high-pressure and high-temperature cleaning. This evaluation is conducted for automotive equipment and manufacturing lines in harsh environments, and it is used in promotional materials. The test involves spraying high-temperature water at high pressure from four angles (0 degrees, 30 degrees, 60 degrees, and 90 degrees) for 30 seconds each on a rotating product to verify the waterproof performance of the enclosure. We are pleased to announce that our Matsusaka facility is now capable of conducting this high-level protection rating evaluation, which is rare in Japan.
