Next week, on September 11th (Thursday), I will be speaking at the Converting Webinar Week organized by the Japan Society for Processing Technology. The theme for this session is "UV-C to VUV Ultraviolet Technology: Applications in Factories." Ultraviolet light is used not only for UV curing but also as a light source for sterilization, deodorization, and surface modification. These applications are relevant in many manufacturing plants and are elements that require actual improvement. In this webinar, I will introduce ultraviolet technologies suitable for these applications, along with case studies from Europe. This webinar is recommended for the following individuals: - Those involved in water sterilization and deodorization in factories - Those engaged in surface modification treatments - Those who wish to deepen their knowledge about the effects of ultraviolet light, etc.

(Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Masahiko Suzuki, hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will expand its product portfolio of UV LEDs, one of the light sources for UV curing, and strengthen the provision of UV curing process solutions in new growth areas. In January 2024, the Company was absorbed by Excelsius Technologies, headquartered in the United States (hereinafter referred to as "Excelsius"), and is now handling UV LED products previously managed by its predecessor, Heraeus Noblelight Japan Co., Ltd., and Foseon Technology Japan Co., Ltd., as well as Excelsius. These products encompass a wide range of UV LED light sources for line and area irradiation as well as spot irradiation, regardless of cooling methods. As market demands become increasingly diverse, the Company has established a system that enables more detailed proposals to a broad range of industries through this product expansion.

Free membership registrationExcelitas Noble Light Japan Co., Ltd. will strengthen the sales of its BlueLight Steri-Belt system equipped with ultraviolet lamps to food processing factories in the Japanese market. Even after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for convenience and time-saving in meal preparation continues to rise across generations. The variety of frozen foods and frozen meats has expanded, and they are being utilized in various situations due to their long shelf life and the ability to stock up. On the other hand, in terms of food safety, there is an increasing demand for thorough hygiene management in the manufacturing processes at food processing factories, including the safety of raw materials. Hygiene management programs require that equipment in contact with food undergo appropriate cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance, with the frequency and management methods left to the discretion of each company. However, the common practice of cleaning and disinfecting several times a day may be insufficient in preventing microbiological cross-contamination (the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms between foods).
