Construction example: Pool's striped steel plate stairs anti-slip (Slip Rate Sigma 03 SR method)

In July 2010, we applied a slip-resistant treatment using Slip Rate Sigma 03 to the spiral staircase made of checker plate steel for the water slide at Sun San Pool in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. The spiral staircase was only painted, and children with wet feet were slipping and falling at the pool. Additionally, the paint color was a dark navy single color, which made the visibility of the step edges poor, posing a risk of tripping for visually impaired individuals. The administrator requested a slip-resistant method that would improve visibility and identification of the step edges without causing pain when walking barefoot. Therefore, we used a prominent color aggregate (yellow) in the Slip Rate Sigma 03 method, finishing the work at a height of approximately 2 millimeters to contrast with the existing floor color.
