Construction example: Anti-slip for corrugated steel plate (Slip Rate Sigma 01 SR method)

November 2007
Anti-slip processing was carried out on the checker plate cover of the slope walkway next to the parking lot of Izumi City Hall in Osaka Prefecture using Slip Rate Sigma 01.
The checker plate, which was installed in a sloped manner at the step between the sidewalk and the road, had been causing numerous falls on rainy days, so Slip Rate Sigma 01 (aggregate TKB) was adopted as a countermeasure against falls, leading to the construction.
Generally, checker plates are said to be non-slip types, but the patterned surface is effective as an anti-slip measure only for soft rubber footwear. For hard-soled shoes (sports shoes, leather shoes), the pattern does not grip, and conversely, the reduced contact area promotes slipping, making it very dangerous.
Therefore, our Slip Rate Sigma 01 was adopted for the anti-slip treatment.
