Construction example: Striped steel plate anti-slip (loading grip)

In August 2010, we applied anti-slip processing with a logging lip on the checker plate cover of the drainage ditch in Ikedashimachi, Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. The checker plate is installed in a gently sloping drainage ditch, but there is a nearby agricultural water opening and closing gate, which often causes it to get wet, leading to numerous falls. Generally, checker plates are said to be non-slip types; however, the patterned surface is effective as an anti-slip measure for soft rubber footwear, but for hard-soled shoes (sports shoes, leather shoes), the pattern does not grip, and instead, the reduced contact area promotes slipping, making it very dangerous. Our company typically uses slip plates when there is a long period for traffic restrictions, and logging lips when the traffic restriction time is limited.
