Emergency Earthquake Alert Receiver 【Introduction to Differences with TV and Mobile】

There are two types of emergency earthquake alerts: "warnings" for general use and "forecasts" for advanced users.
The general "warning" is issued when a maximum seismic intensity of 5- weak or higher is predicted and observed by two or more seismic stations, targeting areas with a predicted intensity of 4 or higher. This is primarily distributed through television, radio, and mobile devices.
In contrast, the "forecast" for advanced users is issued when the amplitude of P-waves or S-waves at any seismic observation point exceeds 100 gal, and the magnitude is 3.5 or higher, or the maximum predicted intensity is 3 or higher. This is mainly received through dedicated receivers, systems, or apps.
The general "warning" is typically issued once, while the "forecast" for advanced users can be repeatedly issued as more accurate intensity predictions can be made over time with updates to the information.
