A inspection robot that can automatically avoid obstacles such as eaves and windows to ensure worker safety and address labor shortages! It is also capable of close visual inspection using cameras and detecting floating issues with a tapping device.

This is a robot developed through joint research between Toyohashi University of Technology and Sanshin Kenzai Kogyo, designed to ascend and descend exterior walls for inspections. The development concept focuses on ensuring the safety of workers, addressing labor shortages, digitizing inspections and surveys, and securing flexibility in application through modularization. At Sanxin Building Materials Industry Co., Ltd., we aim to provide accurate inspections that yield consistent results, regardless of who conducts them, for investigations of "floating" in structures (mortar) and precise inspections after "floating" repairs. Using a method called "V-transmission," we propagate ultrasonic waves into the structure, detecting delamination (voids) inside the structure from the waveforms of the reflected ultrasonic waves. At Sanxin Building Materials Industry Co., Ltd., we conduct investigations that include thermal photographs of exterior walls as visual aids for exterior wall inspections. By using infrared images in addition to traditional inspections, we can appeal visually to clients, leading to a deeper understanding. In the inspection of concrete structures, we utilize the radar rebar detector "SIR-EZ," which combines a control computer and detection device into one, allowing for quick detection of rebar and non-metallic pipes within the structure. A laser pointer is used to indicate the location of the area currently being surveyed and the position of embedded objects such as rebar from the front and side of the detection device. The "Mechanical Stitching Method" by Nichinichisui Road Machinery Co., Ltd. is a new technique that allows for the repair of metal cracks without the application of heat. By using special bolts and reinforcement plates, cracks are physically removed, and repairs are made without any thermal impact on the base material.
