Air self-priming at 105% of water discharge volume! OKE-MB03FJ self-priming measurement.

The OKE-MB03FJ (6L/min) self-priming pump draws in air at 105% of the water discharge volume. The experiment revealed that there is a water pressure at which the self-priming volume becomes discontinuous.
【Experimental Conditions】
- The water heater was set to 43°C, utilizing tap water pressure.
→ Pressure was measured at the base of the shower hose.
- The self-priming inlet was fully opened using a throttle valve.
- A 6mm outer diameter tube was used.
- Self-priming volume measuring device:
→ Horiba Seisakusho Estec Digital Flow Meter SEF-51.
【Results and Discussion】
- The self-priming volume is very high, drawing in 105% of the discharge volume.
- At a water pressure of 0.16MPa, the self-priming volume is 6.3L/min.
→ Exceeding this pressure causes a jump to 0.19MPa, reducing the self-priming volume to 3.4L/min.
- There exists a water pressure at which the self-priming volume becomes discontinuous.
