We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the data utilization solution "YDC SONAR" at NGK Insulators, Ltd., which handles power-related equipment such as insulators. The company had been collecting and analyzing production line data for some time, but due to the almost manual handling, the maximum amount of data processed in a day was limited to 200-300 items. After the implementation, they were able to efficiently and centrally collect, manage, and analyze data, resulting in improvements in yield, increased efficiency of indirect operations, and faster information sharing. Additionally, there have been indirect effects such as a review of the data collection and analysis processes. We would like to introduce a case study of Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., which develops residential and renovation businesses, where the data utilization solution "YDC SONAR" for the manufacturing industry was implemented. The company aims to detect process anomalies as early as possible, minimize the occurrence of defective products, and prevent such occurrences altogether. They needed a system to manage performance data, which was stored separately, in an integrated manner to enable efficient and advanced analysis. We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the data utilization solution "YDC SONAR" for the manufacturing industry at Yokogawa Manufacturing Corporation, which engages in the production of electrical machinery and equipment. The company faced chronic quality issues that could not be resolved with traditional approaches. As part of their efforts to address and improve these issues, they implemented our product on their printed circuit board manufacturing line and component mounting line. After the implementation, by linking quality information from AOI with various production management data on our system, they were able to analyze information regarding the chronic occurrence of pattern defects and identify the causes in a short time. Particularly, due to the rapidly growing highly information-oriented society, the power demand of global AI data centers is expected to double from the 2024 level, surpassing Japan's total electricity consumption. In the future, to achieve a rich highly information-oriented society while maintaining carbon neutrality, securing a cheap and stable power supply is essential, and energy conservation in data centers will become the most important challenge. Against this backdrop, two-phase liquid immersion cooling technology, which can significantly reduce power input associated with cooling while achieving high cooling performance, is attracting attention. In this lecture, we will discuss efficient cooling technologies for data centers, evaluated based on cooling performance (air cooling/liquid cooling/liquid immersion technology), and outline the potential and technical challenges of liquid immersion cooling technology in particular.
